MoistureMeterD Compact – Local measurements of tissue water
The MoistureMeterD Compact is a portable and non-invasive instrument for local measurements of tissue water. It is a unique tissue water-specific instrument for assessing percentage water content (PWC) in biological tissues. It measures the tissue dielectric constant (TDC) in the skin and subcutis in seconds after applying the measurement probe on the skin. TDC values are converted into percentage water content (PWC) scale from 0 to 100 % for easy interpretation of results.
BENEFITS
Highly sensitive measurement of percentage water content in skin and subcutis
Totally non-invasive
Localized edema measurements at virtually all body skin sites
Displays percentage water content (0 - 100 %) highly proportional to interstitial fluid
Built-in pressure sensor for consistent, reproducible and user-independent measurements

Skin hydration measurement device
Skin hydration measurement principle
The MoistureMeterD Compact generates a low power 300 MHz microwave field exposed to tissue. Part of the signal is absorbed and part is reflected back to permit the calculation of a dielectric constant, which is directly proportional to the water content of the measured tissue. The value increases with increasing water content and edema.
